PrimeCare Medical, Inc. was originally incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a business corporation in 1986 and was then known as Pennsylvania Institutional Health Services, Inc. (PIHS). In 1994 its name was formally changed to PrimeCare Medical, Inc. That same year, two subsidiaries were created, PrimeCare Medical of New York, Inc. and PrimeCare Medical of West Virginia, Inc. PrimeCare Medical, Inc. and PrimeCare Medical of West Virginia, Inc. are a Pennsylvania and West Virginia professional corporation founded by Carl A. Hoffman, Jr., D.O., D.Sc., CCHP, who remains President, Corporate Medical Director, and sole stockholder. Dr. Hoffman brings 36 years of experience in correctional medicine along with a Corporate Medical Staff that possesses a combined two hundred (200) years experience in Correctional Medicine.
